Boiled peanuts are a beloved snack in the Palmetto State, so much so that they were named the Official Snack of South Carolina. You don't have to look far to get your hands on some of these salty treats as you’ll be able to indulge in all-you-can-eat Boiled Peanuts at the 12th Annual Boiled Peanut Festival being held in Bluffton, SC on September 24th, 2022 from 12-6pm.
We hold the peanut festival every September when peanuts are in season and at their freshest. At this fun event, you can participate in boiled peanut cook-offs and eating contests and so much more -- all while enjoying your fair share of this tasty snack!
held on common ground @ the Heyward house
The 2022 Boiled Peanut Festival will be held on Historic “Common Ground” at the Heyward House. The venue is quaint and comfortable nestled in Heart of Old Town.

The Heyward House is located at 70 Boundary Street in Old Town Bluffton, South Carolina 29910.

Parking is available on the street and in Martin Family Park on a First Come - First Serve Basis. Green street will be CLOSED for event foot traffic.

Admission fee is $20. 100% of the proceeds go to the Historic Bluffton Foundation. Entry will grant you All-You-Can-Eat Peanuts and live entertainment from the Horan Brothers as well as free entry (if you choose) in the Boiled Peanut Eating Contest. Additionally, all in attendance will have the chance to sample all of the peanuts entered into the contests once the winner(s) have been chosen.

For many South Carolinians, boiling peanuts is a family tradition, but you don't need to have southern roots or a culinary degree to make your own boiled peanuts! The recipe is easy and requires only a few ingredients. Ready to give it a try? Enter our Boiled Peanut Cookoff with your best recipe(s).
All Entrants into the Cookoff will receive free admission to the Boiled Peanut Festival.
The 12th Annual Boiled Peanut Cookoff is being held on Common Ground, on September 24th, 2022. All entrants must have their peanuts entered, on location @ The Heyward House, by 3pm.
Judging will take place around 4pm by a most distinguished panel of judges. For many South Carolinians, boiling peanuts is a family tradition. The Sky is the limit in this category! As many ingredients as you’d like can be entered in your recipe. In the past, folks have entered all kinds of creative recipes served either hot or chilled.

Do you love Boiled Peanuts? Can you eat your weight in them? Do you want the coveted prize of champion Boiled Peanut Eater in Bluffton? Enter the Boiled Peanut Eating Contest!
Eat as many peanuts as you can in a timed event during the 12th Annual Boiled Peanut Festival! The event has had several grand champions to date and the competition will be tough but with patience and perseverance, you can take home the highly coveted honor of Champion.
