Step Back in Time with Us!
Join us for a captivating journey into the past with “Under the Ancient Oaks,” a unique educational event designed to bring history to life. Taking place on November 8th from 10am to 4pm, this immersive experience will transport you to the antebellum period through the eyes of living historians.

What to Expect:
• Living History Presentations: Meet over 30 talented reenactors portraying life during the antebellum era. See authentic demonstrations of material culture, including clothing, crafts, and everyday activities.

• Interactive Activities: Engage with history through hands-on activities that will give you a deeper understanding of the past.

• Weekend Highlights: In addition to the Friday school programs, enjoy various activities throughout the weekend. Following the reenactment, join us for an oyster roast. Tickets are $50 per guest (call Heyward House for advanced tickets). A Citadel regiment will be camping in Old Town to work on their bushcraft then will march down Bridge St. in formation to Martin Family Park. There, they will have musket firings as well as educating attendees on muskets, ballistics, and weaponry handling in the late 1800s.The event will culminate with a powerful church service on Sunday, featuring a fire-and-brimstone preacher for an authentic experience.
